Day 4 post-op

OK, so I have not been on due to being so silly on pain medications, and basically not functioning. I had my Tonsillectomy on Wednesday. Right now I feel like there is no end to the pain in site. I woke up last night choking on my own spit. How does that even happen?! Oh yeah thats right, when your neck is so swollen you look like a football player and you can’t even swallow water….WOW people told me this was going to be bad, but nothing could have prepared me. The best tip I got though was to keep ice on the outside of my neck. It is the one thing that is helping me through this. Not to mention my dog laying in bed with me the whole time, only getting up to be fed or to be let outside. Mom’s been the best (like I expected any different??) she has pretty much tried to make me anything that I thought/think I can swallow. I just want to be outside hiking and enjoying this beautiful weather!!!!!! Ahhhh! Alright time for more rest xoxox

No Vit E for 4 weeks?!

So, these snack bars are one of my favorite healthy snacks! They come in a lot of different flavors, all with nutrients we need for daily living, like antioxidants, vitamins a, c, and e, omega-3′s along with many other nutritious stuff!! But sadly I have not been able to eat them, and will not be able to until at least two weeks after surgery! Im sure the amount of Vit E is not too awful, but the doctor says no Vit E 2 weeks before and 2 after surgery because like aspirin, it is a blood thinner!

Here is a list from Dr Edward S Lee, MD:

• Vitamin A – will actually help healing if you’re on steroids
• Vitamin C – important in the formation of collagen, i.e. healing tissues
• Vitamin E – increased risk of bleeding
• Dong Quai – may increase risk of bleeding
• Feverfew – may increase risk of bleeding
• Fish oil – increased risk of bleeding
• Garlic – may increase risk of bleeding
• Ginkgo – may affect your blood pressure
• St. John’s Wort – interacts with many medications

I knew about the E, but was happy to read about the benefits of these other vitamins like A and C!!

AH My first POST!!!

Hello Bloggers!!! So with convincing of my fabulous friend Jen, I finally decided to start a blog!! I have to let you all know in advance, I am going to be brutally honest on here.  I’ve made this promise to myself because for so long I was not honest to make others happy. I am starting this blog to share my life experiences, so maybe one day they will help some one, some where. So let me start by explaining my name, “Live Love Pilates” I was having a lot of problems and changes in life and got into a funk that I couldnt get out of, it just seemed to get worse. I did not want to do anything I only did the essentials which got to the point of basically just going to work. I finally went to the Dr was put on anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds because I was having panic attacks in public, like at Target, the mall, restaurants etc. These STILL did not help. So I woke up one morning and said Im joining the gym. Ive always been fairly athletic, I was a dancer for 16yrs, track in high school and so forth. I joined and with my membership I received a complimentary one on one pilates session. I got scheduled right away. I had always wanted to try and never did. Let me tell you BEST THING I EVER DID!!! As soon as the session was over there was a natural smile on my face again. I also started doing Zumba, and a cycling class and a kickboxing class. The gym brings the greatest joy to me!! I don’t want to bore you all so I will get into more details in upcoming blogs! Just wanted to get you filled in on what initially jump-started my new love for exercise and a healthy life style!! Hope to hear from many people soon!
